We had been digging in the vegetable patch together and she said "Mummy can you hear it?" I said "hear what?" She says "The birds singing for us". My heart skipped a little beat - because no, my darling, I didn't hear the birds before you pointed it out to me.... thank you. Do you get carried away in your adult world? Nothing like the blessing of a small child to remind you to be more present.

We have enjoyed this salad with lamb lately. 

I have also tried this one pot meal. Threw it all in the pot and dinner done inside 20 minutes. A keeper. 

I have not tried this but I am looking forward to it with summer around the corner.

Spring?

This morning's bounty. 
I think my girls think it is spring. They could be forgiven some days.
Enjoying baked custard with nutmeg on top, homemade mayo and little Miss' absolute favourite "Toast on Egg"???
